How Does CBD Work?

CBD is the new big thing in the beauty industry. Cannabidiol, or better known as “CBD”, is commonly used in skincare products due to its amazing properties. So how does it do all of these great things? Let’s break it down!  What exactly is cannabidiol anyway? Well, let’s look at some history first. You can blame your parents for this one since they probably told you that marijuana was bad for you (in fact, there are still many people who believe this). But did you know that years ago before February 8th, 1942, cannabis was legal for medicinal use? If you’re like most people, you didn’t. Even though the government legalized cannabis for medicinal use, it remained illegal for recreational purposes in most states. As time went on, more and more research showed that marijuana wasn’t so bad after all! CBD is one of many substances found in marijuana plants. CBD isn’t psychoactive, which means you won’t get high off CBD products. CBD can be used to help treat a variety of ailments including epilepsy, cancer, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, nausea caused by chemotherapy, digestive disorders among many others.

Since CBD has been shown to have all these amazing benefits without being psychoactive or causing addiction problems, CBD is being looked into as a potential treatment for all kinds of medical conditions. It’s important to note CBD products aren’t approved by the FDA to treat any condition, but CBD is legal in many states. CBD is most commonly used as a pain reliever, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, neuroprotectant, and much more.

What About CBD Beauty Products?

You can find CBD in all sorts of beauty products such as lotions, skincare creams, and lip balms. CBD has been proven to promote cellular growth and repair damage caused by free radicals (which help fight against aging). CBD has even been shown to reduce acne! CBD also works well for people who suffer from skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema since CBD helps relieve itchiness and pain. CBD may be able to help promote wound healing since CBD is known to help fight against bacteria and infection. CBD also contains antioxidants that help reduce sun damage and inflammation from dermatitis. CBD is even used as a mild pain reliever for people with chronic skin conditions like acne, diabetes, and psoriasis since CBD can reduce redness and itchiness at the site of an outbreak (you can also put CBD directly on trouble areas to help treat pain).

CBD is safe for most people to use, but you should contact your doctor before using CBD if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding. CBD has been shown to interact with several medications such as anticonvulsants and antidepressants so it may alter the effectiveness of these medications. CBD may also cause tiredness or drowsiness so if you use CBD you should avoid driving or doing any tasks that need full alertness.  CBD can also lower blood sugar levels so CBD may not be safe for people with diabetes. CBD hasn’t been approved by the FDA to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease so please use CBD products at your own risk. CBD is available in many forms including CBD oils, CBD tinctures, CBD tablets, and capsules among other products containing CBD extracts.

What Happens If You Put CBD On Your Face?

When CBD first became a popular topic, it was mostly a medicinal device. CBD can help with pain relief and other medical issues. CBD beauty products were probably not the first thing people thought of, but CBD has been used in skin care for years now.

CBD is becoming so common that even some celebrities have been caught using CBD products!

But how does CBD affect your skin? Is CBD safe to use on your face? And most importantly, what happens if you put CBD on your face?

Let’s take a look at these questions one at a time!

First of all, is CBD safe to use on your face? The answer is yes!

Most topical CBD products are rich in fatty acids and CBD itself is a lipid, so CBD products are perfectly safe to use on the face. CBD can reduce your oil production by up to 40%, so CBD can be a good choice for those with oily skin!

There have been a few studies that suggest CBD might help treat acne, though more research needs to be done for this claim. (For now, it’s probably best not to rely on CBD as your sole treatment.)

Once you’ve chosen an appropriate CBD product, simply apply it to your skin like any other skincare product. You should feel the CBD absorb into your skin within several minutes. Interestingly enough, CBD affects everyone differently; some people will absorb CBD quickly while others will take longer – everyone is different!

And finally, what happens if CBD gets into your eyes? CBD will not affect you if it is absorbed through the skin, but CBD might sting slightly if CBD comes in contact with your eyes. This is because CBD can irritate the eye area, so always be careful when applying CBD near the eyes.

But that’s all there is to it! CBD products are safe for use on your face. They are popular among those who have oily or acne-prone skin types since CBD can help reduce oil production and treat acne. And finally, CBD won’t cause any problems if it gets into your eyes – just try not to let it happen!

Are CBD Beauty Products Legal?

There are no laws against using CBD in beauty or skin care products. CBD doesn’t contain any THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) that’s found in high levels in marijuana. So you can’t get high on it. But some skin products may add THC along with CBD. Some experts find this concerning.

It’s illegal to market CBD if it’s added to foods.

Experts want to see more reliable research before they recommend CBD for your skin. But if you do decide to use CBD-infused skin products and notice a reaction, tell your doctor about it. If you have skin problems, talk to a dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment options.
